Biathlon Power Kornspitz®
PREPARATION
The sun shines at your back; your legs get stronger and you possibly get a hot shot. Ladies and gentlemen, food and sport aficionados: today we certainly do not want to present any kind of insurance but an all-round carefree package for your life, ski trails and the shooting range. The power of the chickpea will strengthen your legs.
If you want this power in your legs, just follow our suggestions: soak chickpeas in a bowl with enough water for a night. Then boil the chickpeas for ten minutes, strain them and that will be our basis. Now divide chickpeas into two parts: one for the spread and one for the loaves. Take a hand-held blender and mash one part of the chickpeas. Add the egg, grated carrots some bread crumbs, salt and pepper. If the dough should be too dry, just add some soup, milk or cream and let it rest a bit.
Also saffron does not give away its taste that easy. We have to draw out its qualities, so pour some milk into a pot and slightly boil it up. Add the saffron and let it cook out in the milk. You will see how the milk changes colour to a yellowish-red tone and how a fantastic smell will flood your kitchen. Now mash the second part of the chickpeas, add yoghurt, curry, salt, pepper, the saffron milk and give it a good stir.
If you want the spread to be lighter, just refine it with some sour cream, yoghurt or cottage cheese. While the spread and the loaves will give you strength, saffron and curry will brighten up even cloudier days. Some chilli powder will allow you some hot shots at the shooting range. Finally, we would like to top off our creation with some roasted pine nuts, a little bit of parsley, green salad and cherry tomatoes.
Form small loaves (larger loafs with rice and yoghurt would also make a great lunch) out of the first mixture and fry them in a pan until golden brown. Now just cover your Kornspitz with the spread, put your loaves on top and garnish with all the other ingredients.
Off you go onto ski trails to break some records!!!
