Strong Südback
From 21 to 24 September, it was all about the bakery sector at the exhibition grounds in Stuttgart. backaldrin was also represented, with one of the largest stands on site. The international family business presented Slow Malt, a new improver for white bread rolls, and Muesli Bread, an innovative bread for a good start to the day. Other product innovations and classics rounded off the show.
The Südback is the meeting place for the German-speaking and, increasingly, wider European bakery sector. Austrian market leader backaldrin was there with its newest products, and was able to draw a positive outcome after the four days of the fair. “Our stand at Südback 2019 was very well attended, and Sunday was particularly busy. We are satisfied not only with the numbers, but also with the quality of the many discussions that were had,” says backaldrin Managing Director Harald Deller. “The visitors were really impressed with our new improver, Slow Malt, which was formulated especially for long-time processing of cooler dough, and which helps to produce excellent crusty rolls. Muesli bread, made with our innovative Muesli Bread Mix, proved very popular during presentations and tastings.”
Company owner and founder Peter Augendopler can only agree with the pleasing outcome: “This year we demonstrated our innovative strength and hospitality once again. The number of good talks is evidence of a positive mood in the sector and the interest in new products indicates zest and a spirit of optimism.” backaldrin’s participation in the “Wissensforum Backwaren” blogger tour also provided a breath of fresh air. More than ten influencers were recruited to visit the Südback and to act as ambassadors to end consumers. At backaldrin, the hobby bakers were able to take a dip into the world of the family business by creating their own muesli bread mix.
