When the annual hustle and bustle of the time before Christmas becomes more peaceful the nearer December 24 gets; when the “true meaning” of Christmas we are all gently keeping in our childhood memories reveals itself more and more; when the Christmas tree does not look like work anymore but is just beautiful; and when our children’s eager anticipation starts to seem satisfying and mild: well then, then dear readers, then our “Christmas Magic” Kornspitz is placed on the table. (… and Christmas is of course knocking at the door!).
Preparation:
The whole magic of our Kornspitz perfectly fits the little time left at Christmas – it does not take too long. Roast chestnuts in a pan until they get crunchy. Take your time and use less heat while roasting them a bit longer. In the meantime, you can do all the remaining work. Mix yoghurt and curd cheese and spread it on the Kornspitz®. Cut apples into thin slices and also spread them on the Kornspitz® together with candied fruit and raisins. Place a bit of cranberry jam and the by now crunchy chestnuts here and there and sprinkle some gingerbread spices on top.
Bon appétit, have fun trying and of course “Merry Christmas”!
